In the DTF (Direct to Film) heat transfer process, inks are the core materials that determine print quality. They are primarily divided into CMYK color inks and White ink. They have distinct roles and work in synergy.
Role and Function Of CMYK Color Inks:
CMYK stands for four colors: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Key (Black). These four inks mix in varying proportions to create thousands of colors, reproducing all the colorful parts of a design. They are responsible for the color, detail, and gradation of the pattern.
Role and Function Of White Ink:
White ink is key to what differentiates DTF from other processes (like DTG). Its main functions are:
u Base Layer: When printing on dark garments, a layer of white ink is printed first. This white base blocks the dark garment color from showing through, ensuring the vibrancy and accuracy of the CMYK colors printed on top.
Spot Color Printing: Can be used directly to print pure white designs and text
